Private, 2nd Regiment (Colonel William Higgins), Tennessee Mounted Volunteers.
He served under Captains John Hill and Joseph Kirkpatrick.
Private, 24th U.S. Infantry (Tennessee) Serving under Captain Jones.
Murphy Reece enlisted October 1814 (Wilson County TN) at the age of 33, for a period of 5 years, under Captain Jones. He was discharged (inability/disabled) on 10 July 1816. Murphy filed for an invalid/disabled pension in July of 1850 and his service records were proven. He died 4 years later from cholera at the age of 73.
