Callender Family Lot

James Thomas Callender, Private, Co. C., 20th Tennessee Infantry was killed at the Battle of Hoover’s Gap, June 24, 1863. After the war, his remains were removed from the original burial site and re-interred at Nashville City Cemetery on April 27, 1866.

No tombstone was shown on the 1908 Plat of City Cemetery or in the earliest recordings of inscriptions by Smith in 1908.
