Lewis, Col. Joel Born 28 Aug. 1760 – died 22 Nov. 1816. He was an Officer of the United States during the Revolutionary War, and contributed his full share of Patriotism, Prudence and Bravery towards the Independence of his country.  He reared a numerous and respectable family and set them a striking example of the life of a virtuous man and useful citizen. He was a firm and practical believer in the doctrines of Revealed Religion…(His grave was moved here from its original burial place).
